Chalama means coloured ribbons tied to the branches of the sacred trees and at the sacred places (ovaa) in Tuva. Chalama for the Tuvinians is a prayer, respect to the nature and the ancestors. Music of the Tuvinian people is one of the nomads – the people who closely connected and are in contact with the nature and wildlife. Therefore you can listen to special sounding – imitation of ambient sounds, which are converted into a song. When you listen to Radik’s singing – you can hear the nature, something very natural, consonant with the soul and at the same time harmonizing the inner state, as if it were a mantra.
